Huckabee's emphasis on diplomatic engagement in the Middle East is fresh and welcome. Mr. Huckabee established a respectable record of fiscal responsibility in Arkansas. Rather than run up deficits, he backed raising taxes to pay for needed infrastructure, health care and education. That's called prudence, and it was once a Republican virtue. Mr. Huckabee is not an ideal candidate. Once a Bush-style Republican on immigration, his recent hard-right turn smells of opportunism. He too often wings it on foreign policy. But Govs. Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush also took office without foreign-policy experience. Much depends on the quality of a president's advisers. A chief executive's core foreign-policy convictions matter most, and on those, Mr.

Having tried most methods (including low carb) to deal with weight loss, I found the surgery was more effective. Shortly after the surgery my health improved and I had significantly fewer visits to my doctor. Sadly it was only temporary fix with VBG. I may be dealing with a different set of issues now but I know that bariatric surgery is effective in treating the disease and other symptoms of obesity. The Surreal World of the Progressive Left
Rhetorically, they are passionate proponents of “equality" but in practice they are committed enthusiasts of a hierarchy of privilege in which the highest ranks are reserved for themselves as the guardians of righteousness, and then for those they designate “victims" and “oppressed," who are thus worthy of their redemption. Rhetorically they are secularists and avatars of tolerance, but in fact they are religious fanatics who regard their opponents as sinners and miscreants and agents of civil darkness. Therefore, when they engage an opponent it is rarely to examine and refute his argument but rather to destroy the bearer of the argument and remove him from the plain of battle. Consequently, misrepresentation of facts, distortion of motives and general acts of character assassination are the preferred modes of progressive discourse, as any conservative who has acquired a public persona can attest.
